A vCard QR code is a digital business card: scan it and the phone offers to save your name, organization, phone numbers, email, website and address straight into contacts — no typing, no app.

The code uses vCard 3.0, the same contact format used by Apple Contacts, Google Contacts and Outlook, so it works on every modern phone.

Fill in only the fields you need — a name plus phone or email is usually enough. Fewer fields mean a simpler code that scans faster.

Where to put your vCard QR code

The classic spot is the back of your business card. It also works well on conference badges, email signatures (as an image), shop counters and trade-show banners. Wherever someone might want to reach you later, a scannable contact is easier than a typed-out card.

What is a vCard?
vCard is the standard electronic business card format (like a digital address-book entry). Version 3.0 is supported by iOS, Android, Outlook, Google Contacts and every QR scanner that handles contacts.
Will scanning overwrite the person's contacts?
No — the phone opens a new-contact screen with your details pre-filled. The scanner reviews and saves it themselves.
Which fields should I include?
Name plus one phone number and one email is the sweet spot. Every extra field makes the QR pattern denser; organization and website are worth adding for business use.
Can I include a photo?
Photos can technically be embedded in vCards, but they make the QR code enormous and unreliable to scan, so we deliberately leave them out. A clean, fast-scanning code beats a bloated one.
Does it work with WhatsApp Business cards?
